Remo Stars U-17 Arrive America Ahead Of Tourney

Remo Stars Football Club Academy has arrived the United States of America ahead of the 2023 Generation Adidas Cup NPFLUpdates exclusively reports.

The Ibadan-based club is one of the Nigerian club for the annual tournament. It will represent not only Nigeria, but also Africa entirely.

The Nigerian team will compete for the title alongside Manchester United, Boca Juniors and Real Madrid.

A video uploaded on the club’s official Twitter  handles confirmed the arrival of the boys. Further information revealed that the boys are trying to get acclimatized with the environment.

“Our academy boys in a bit of weather acclimatization training ahead of the  @MLSNEXT Generation Adidas Cup in the USA,” a club official statement read.

At least ten different football academies drawn from four continents will be participating in the competition.

Twenty-nine football academies from the Major League Soccer(MLS) alongside Strikers Football Club will be participating in the competition.

Participating clubs are the following: Atlas Football Club(South America), Club America(South America), Flamengo(Brazil, South America), Palmieras(Brazil, South America), Boca Juniors(Argentina, South America), Club Leon(South America), Manchester United(England, Europe), Remo Stars(Nigeria, Africa), River Plate(Argentina, South America), Punas Unam(South America).

The U-17 competition will kickstart on Saturday April 1 and end on Sunday 9, 2023.

This is not the first time, Remo Stars Football Club academies will be leaving the shores of the continent for international engagements.

Last year, the club travelled to Italy for the 2022 Viareggio youth competition. An annual competition that feature in the city of Viareggio Italy.

Football pundits in Nigeria and across the African continent has charged the teenagers to effectively represent African Football.

FIFA recognised local and foreign football agents and scouts, are expected to attend the fixtures scouting for prospective Professional Footballers.

“I will be travelling to the United States to see some of the boys play on neutral venues,” a football agent told NPFLUpdates correspondent Monday evening.
