Super Falcons progress to the next round of WAFCON qualifier, NFF makes announcement

Religious leaders drop predictions ahead of Super Falcons FIFA Women’s World Cup Round of 16 fixture against England on monday.

The Super Falcons last Monday booked a place in the 2023 FIFA women’s World Cup knockout stages after playing a goalless draw with Republic of Ireland. And in the next stage, the national team will come up against England who topped their Group.

And ahead of the tie, predictions have been made by pundits, fans and football experts. But, more interesting are the predictions of some religious leaders who have interest in football.

According to a Prophetess based in Anambra state, the Super Falcons have done so well. And has made Nigerians very proud. But then has urged, the team’s management to appease the gods, so the players can be successful against England.

In her predictions, she said Nigeria will emerge victorious. But then, will not last long without making some spiritual sacrifices.

“Without the said sacrifice(earlier spoken about), Nigeria can only end at the quarterfinals. The gods are angry, and cannot be taken for granted; now is the time for the management to listen to the voice of wisdom,” she said.

“We’ll see how it goes, whether I’m right or wrong. But the gods are wise.”

Meanwhile, in what seemed like a contradicting prediction, Pastor Simon, predicted a semi-final ticket for the ladies.

According to him, the abilities of the team can take them forward regardless of their opposition.

“I see the Super Falcons reaching the semi-final. And that will be for the first time in history; because they have the qualities working for them,” he said.

“Nigerian athletes are out to break bounds this year. And I can see bright future ahead for the women’s team.”

Nigeria will seek a quarterfinal ticket on Monday. There is palpable tension among fans, because of the kind of quality players in the English team.

  1. The fake prophets are at it again with their noise. The Super Falcons have done well to be in the next round of the world cup. But l don’t see them beating the England female team Lioness.
