Coach of Rivers United Stanley Eguma has opened up on the importance of their fans ahead of the Etoile Filante reverse fixture npflupdates.com reports.

Rivers United last weekend played out a 0-0 barren draw away at Etoile Filante. And will now expect to make their fans proud when the reverse fixture comes up in few weeks time.
According to coach Eguma, the team had a good game, but failed to capitalize on its chances.

“We had planned to win the match but unfortunately for us we were held to a draw. It was a great performance for the players, to leave Yamoussoukro without conceding.”

Speaking further, the coach highlighted that the “players showed doggedness throughout the encounter.” But gailed to convert their chances.
“But we will go back and work on that so as to have the chance to progress to the group stage of the competition.”
Speaking about the impact of the Rivers United fans ahead of the tie, Eguma, admitted that fans are very important. And will be happy if the club can give them a win as they cheer them on to glory.
“The fans are very very important, we need them,” he stated.
“This is the time we need them most. Because, the players are going to play at their comfort zone. And the fans can always be there to bring them the comfort and encouragement, and support.”
The coach also stated the importance of not letting the fans down, as the fans will be happy to see team victorious.
“We hope to not let them down because they will also want to be happy while they are cheering the team.

“The team need to rise up to the occasion to ensure they get the better result. So that the fans will be happy.”
