Sunshine Stars assistant kit manager Taiye Dosunmu has been confirmed dead following a gunshot injury he sustained after gunmen attack npflupdates.com reports.
   Unknown gunmen earlier this month(7, December 2023) attacked Sunshine Stars team bus on their way to Benin, Edo State Capital for a Nigeria Premier Football League fixture against Bendel Insurance.

During the attack, it was reported that occupants of the Sunshine Stars team bus suffered various degrees of injury; with the assistant kit manager and their ball boy injured by bullets.
A reliable source, confirmed that Taiye Dosunmu died at the University of Benin Teaching Hospital (UNIBENTH) on Friday.

“Taiye Dosunmu, the Sunshine Stars assistant kit manager has died after failing to survive the gunmen attack on the team on the 7th of December on their way to Benin.
“He died on Friday at the UNIBENTH,” a Nigeria Premier Football League NPFL commentator Mike posted on his X (formerly Twitter) handle.
This is the first time such casualty will be reported in 2023/2024 season of the Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL).

At the time of this report, there’s no official statement yet about the unfortunate incident from Sunshine Stars Football Club.
