Luciano Moggi a former director at Turin-bases club Juventus, have asked the authorities of Napoli to sanction Victor Osimhen as a way of showing solidarity for coach Rudi Garcia.
Few weeks ago, the Nigerian forward was involved in a touchline row with Garcia after he was substituted in a Serie A game against Bologna. Osimhen had missed a goal-scoring opportunity from the spot, and when he was substituted for a fresh leg, he engaged his coach on touchline.
And while such an act may attract a sanction or penalty, Napoli seemed to have let the sleeping dog lie after he apologized to his coach.
According to Moggi, Napoli isn’t enjoying the best of games, and may not be able to defend its title due to the inconsistency of the team. And that is a condition which Moggi said was orchestrated by the change in coach; from Luciano Spalleti to Rudi Garcia.

Moggi canvasses fine for Victor Osimhen
“At the moment, it’s true there is a distance compared to last year, but it’s there because the change of coach was too traumatic,” he said, per Tribal Football, and quoted by Pulse Sports Nigeria.
“With Garcia, the coach changes, the preparation changes, everything changes. The club must make it clear that it is on the coach’s side by educating the players.”
Speaking further, the football executive, highlighted that player education in football normally goes with a fine to a troublesome player.
“Player education is taught with a fine, even if it is (Victor) Osimhen who makes that gesture. Napoli are strong and the season has just started so we need to put things back in their place,” he said.
He added, “Osimhen is not the owner of Napoli; he must understand that he must give his best.”
In a related story, Bayer 04 Leverkusen forward Victor Boniface, has expressed excitement in playing alongside Victor Osimhen.
The duo played together last Friday when Nigeria engaged Saudi Arabia in an international friendly in Portugal.
“I feel good playing with him (Osimhen), really happy playing together. It is a long journey and I feel proud,” the 22-year-old said.

According to Boniface, the Saudi Arabia tie “was a good game.” Though the team “did not get the result” it hoped for.
“But it is a training game preparing us for the tournaments ahead of us. We knew we were playing a good side with a very experienced coach but it is preparation so we keep working.”
