Enyimba on Thursday lost embarrassingly to African Football League opponent Wydad Casablanca, crashing out of the inaugural African Football League championship.

The Aba-based club approached the second leg with high hopes of overturning the first leg loss last weekend. But the former Botola Pro League champions dealt a big blow to the reigning Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) champions.

Playmaker El Amloud opened the scoring for the host four minutes into the game, throwing Enyimba players in disarray. And while the visitors were still trying to settle into the game, Harkass doubled the lead by firing into the roof of the net from a low-cross from the left flank.

Yahia Attiyat Allah placed the last nail on the coffin in the forty-third minute, to knockout the two-time CAF Champions League winners from the AFL.

Meanwhile, Enyimba’s Captain Ojo Olorunleke, had promised the NPFL outfit is in Morocco to get victory, and overturn its first leg defeat.

Two important things can be taken away from the two-legged tie which saw Enyimba accumulate four goals on aggregate.

First, the decay in the Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL), where football clubs lack necessary and sensitive equipment for players development. It’s no longer news that most clubs playing in the NPFL do not have developmental teams(like reserve teams), lacked good and standard facilities and rehab facilities.
