Chelsea Football Club has announced the appointment of Nigerian coach, Hassan Sulaiman, as the manager of the club’s developmental U-18 team.
Hassan Sulaiman, is a holder of a UEFA A coaching license, a license which can enable him become a coach of youth teams up to the age of 18, reserve teams of any top flight clubs and also a men’s professional team playing in the second division.
Having served as an U-16 coach of the club, the London College of Communication graduate, was placed on the interim basis as the manager of the U-18 on February 11, 2023.
He however, stepped up to take charge of the team on permanent basis after he impressed the club’s heirrachy. And he has since been handed the position on permanent basis on March 10, 2023.

Chelsea announced the offer through a statement on its official website. The club appreciated the official who has been part of the club’s academy since 2008.
“Sulaiman has been part of the set-up in the Chelsea academy since 2008. Climbing in the coaching ranks and taking on a number of roles,” club’s statement read.
“He stepped up to take charge of our Under-18s, having previously been the head coach at the Under-16s level.”
The Nigeria-English Tactician who preferred a 4-3-3 formation will now look to win laurels for Chelsea. He will achieve that by stepping up his games by helping his team win matches and titles.
A good return as the head coach of the U-18s, may just pave the way for the Nigerian. He may just be on his way towards securing a more lucrative offer elsewhere. And may even climb up the Chelsea’s coaching ladder.
