Super Eagles goalkeeper Stanley Nwabali opens up on why he shouted at teammate Alexander Iwobi during quarter-final fixture against Angola last weekend, npflupdates.com reports.
Nwabali was captured issuing out directions to midfielder Alex Iwobi, after he appeared the midfielder was sloppy in his position.

Iwobi cheaply lost possession to Angola players very close to his penalty area; and the opponent players capitalised on it and came close to equalising Ademola Lookman’s 41st minute strike.
A shot from Angolan substitute forward Zini, hit the woodwork, hence propelling the Chippa United player to question the doggedness of his colleagues.
Nwabali told reporters in the mixed zone after the Super Eagles victory, that he never meant to be harsh on the former Arsenal playmaker.

According to the 27-year-old, at the point he was talking to Iwobi, it was a moment of that’s part of their strategy.
“It’s a team game, so everyone needs to switch on; it doesn’t matter, so maybe it was our strategy at that moment. I don’t feel like anything happened, so it’s okay.
“You can see we’ve kept four clean sheets and conceded one goal; the guys are good. Our understanding is getting better as the game goes on. We keep understanding each other,” the former Enyimba FC goalkeeper was quoted by Daily Post Nigeria.
In a related story, Bafana Bafana head coach Hugo Broos reveal his side are prepared to eliminate Nigeria when they play in the semi-final on Wednesday.
According to the coach, he’s already drawing up plans on how to dismantle the Super Eagles defense, and eliminate them.
The game on Wednesday will be the first time Nigeria will play South Africa in an AFCON final after they were eliminated in 2000.
“We know now that it will be Nigeria, we are in the semifinal so from tomorrow we start analyzing and we will see how we can use the weaknesses in this team but also be aware for the qualities and there are a lot of qualities in that team,” Broos told a press conference.

“Nigeria is a team who became better and better every game so when I saw them playing, it’s again a very good team with a very good striker.
“There are also a few good players like the one who scored the goal, Lookman, a very good player, so we have to analyze a little bit more now because we didn’t at the time.”
