Amuneke has spent quote sometime with the national team, but then, it was as an assistant to his former Super Eagles teammate Samson SiaSia and Austin Egueavoen.
Should he get the job as many former footballers have tipped him to become José Peseiro’s replacement, the former Tanzania team coach will get go reunite with Victor Osimhen.
Amuneke and Osimhen enjoyed a good outing together during the 2015 FIFA U-17 world cup tournament, which Nigeria won. Osimhen finished as the tournament’s highest goalscorer, with 10 goals. And to work with the Napoli man again, it’s no doubt that the former Zamalek goal-poacher can get the Super Eagles attack to its former glory again.
