A yet to be identified staunch supporter of the Olympic Eagles(U-23) of Nigeria has slumped after Eagles loss to Guinea NPFLUpdates exclusively reports.
A fans has fainted at a popular viewing center in Onitsha after it was announced on radio that Nigeria lost to Guinea. Olympic Eagles have lost out on its quest to clinching an AFCON U-23 ticket.
The coach Salisu Yusuf tutored boys were beaten 2-0 in Rabat Morocco, Tuesday evening. And this was few hours after the Super Eagles reclaimed it’s top spot in their AFCON qualifier Group A.
Last week, the Olympic Eagles were held to a barren draw at the Moshood Abiola Stadium Abuja by the Guinea team.
In the second leg which happened today(28 March) the boys failed to clinch a ticket to AFCON U-23.
Two second half goals Bah Algassime and Soumah ensured that the West African team emerge winner of the tie.
NPFLUpdates gathered that a top fan of the national side slumped few minutes after the final whistle was blown.
And according to eyewitnesses who knew him well, the fan is diabetic and has occasional Blood Pressure issues.
Why he slumped after Eagles loss:
“It was like a film, this my first time of witnessing a man slumping without being hit by anything,” an eyewitness identifiable as Chuwkuemeka told our correspondent.
“I was few metres away from the man, taking my drink, when people started shouting. So, I rushed to the place to see what was happening. And getting there, I discovered that a man has fainted. So, with the help of other people created enough space before trying resucitate him. Thank God he is awake now.”

“I know this man very well, he is a staunch supporter of Nigeria national teams,” Obi, another eyewitness told our correspondent.
“He’s diabetic, and has been on diets. He loved sports, I think he was a Footballer back in his prime. He almost died when the Flying Eagles lost the final ticket to Gambia U-20. And today he has slumped after Eagles loss.
“Hope he gets better. And also realises that football is not a do-or-die affair.”
