Nigeria played out a 2-2 draw with the Asian giants, with goalkeeper Uzoho making a costly mistake that led to Saudi Arabia’s first goal. The 24-year-old had howled a cross from a set-piece into his own net, to the dismay of Nigerians and other supporters.

An owngoal from a Saudi player and a stunner from Kelechi Iheanacho, put Nigeria in the lead. And in a stoppage time, Nigeria yet again conceded from another set-piece, thus ending the Saudi’s losing streak, as they earned a point.

Speaking after the match, Peseiro reminisced on how no goalkeeper had wanted to keep for Nigeria, due to criticism from fans.
