Samuel Chukwueze Set To Join Real Madrid

Super Eagles winger, Samuel Chukwueze, may be joining Spanish giants, Real Madrid this summer npflupdates reports.

Real Madrid is in the market in search of a winger following the departure of Marco Asensio who joined Paris St-Germain. And also the exit of Eden Hazard, who’s contract was terminated on a mutual ground.

And winger Samuel Chukwueze has been the club’s target after impressing President Floretino Perez.

Perez is a top admirer of the Diamond Academy brought up, especially after he scored when Villarreal CF and Real Madrid met at the Santiago Bernabeu this season.

But, for the deal to be sanctioned, Real Madrid has to dig deep into their pocket, to cough out to the tune of €80 million. Because Chukwueze has a contract running until next year. And this is according to a report by Soccernet Nigeria.

However, according to Transfer Market, the 24-year-old is only worth €20 million. And this previous season, Chukwueze has a decade of goals and assist for the Yellow Submarines.

Based on his performances for Villarreal CF in the Spanish top flight, the Nigerian international was named the Best African Player in the league.

Chukwueze joined Villarreal in 2017 from Diamond Academy, a football academy in Nigeria. And that was based on his performances at the FIFA U-17 World Cup tournament in 2015.

At the age grade tournament, Chukwueze helped Nigeria win the FIFA U-17 World Cup title. And individually, picked up a bronze boot for the third highest goalscorer.

He is part of the Super Eagles squad that won bronze medal at the 2019 AFCON tournament in Egypt.

He is expected to make the Super Eagles squad for the upcoming AFCON qualifier fixture against Sierra Leone next week.
