Super Eagles invitee Gift Orban has been voted as UEFA Europa Conference League Player Of The Week following his outstanding performances last Thursday npflupdates.com reports.

Orban was on target thrice last Thursday when KAA Gent travelled to Breidabilik in Iceland and beat the Urvalsdelid giants.

The 21-year-old yet-to-be-capped Super Eagles winger, as a result of his fifth hat-trick in ten months, is among the top scorers in the continental showpiece.

He was nominated and shrugged off competitions from Daniel Peretz (Maccabi Tel Aviv) Jason Svanthorsson (Breidalik) and Faris Moumbagna (Bodo/Glimt) to claim the award.

Announcing the award on its official X (formerly Twitter) handle, UEFA Europa Conference League captioned:

“Gift Orban’s hat-trick earns him Player of the Week honours!”

In a related development, Super Eagles head coach, Jose Santos Peseiro has invited goalkeeper Maduka Okoye, defenders Kenneth Omeruo and Olaoluwa Aina; midfielders Alex Iwobi and Frank Onyeka, and forwards Moses Simon, Kelechi Iheanacho and Taiwo Awoniyi among a list of 23 players for this month’s 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifying matches against the Likuena of Lesotho and Warriors of Zimbabwe.

Shockingly, Gift Orban who made the list for the final fixture of the 2023 AFCON qualifier fixture against Sao Tome and Principe wasn’t included in the current list.

The first match against Lesotho will be played at the prestigious Godswill Akpabio Stadium, Uyo next week Thursday.

After which, the Super Eagles will fly to Rwanda for a clash with the Warriors of Zimbabwe at the Huye Stadium in Butare on Monday, 20th November.
