It was a difficult match, however Super Eagles winger Moses Simon found a way to dazzle in the encounter.
Efforts by both Nantes and Clermont Foot to break the deadlock in the first-half hit the rocks, as both sides held their positions.

How Super Eagles winger helped Nantes to its first win
However, three minutes into the second half, the Super Eagles top player found a way to break the deadlock.
Clermont Foot goalkeeper came off his line to pass a ball to a teammate. Sadly, the pass wasn’t as accurate as he had thought, as a sharp Nantes player reacted first to the lose ball. And having passed the ball to Simon, he capitalized on the goalkeeper’s mistake to loop into an empty goal.
Efforts by the visitors to try and come back into the game proved abortive, as the hosts held their positions. Hence, earning its first victory in the 2023/2024 French Ligue 1 season.
Reacting to the goal and the victory, the Nigerian took to his verified Instagram handle to appreciate God. Putting up a picture of him as he celebrate the fantastic goal, he captioned: “Glory be to God.”
