After 3-Weeks Trial Flying Eagles Defender Signs For European Club

Nigeria’s Flying Eagles defender Solomon Agbalaka has signed for Russian Premier League outfit PFC Sochi npflupdates.com understands.

The lucrative Loleft-back was part of the Flying Eagles squad that won the WAFU-B U-20 tournament last year. Also, he was part of Ladan Bosso’s team that won bronze at the recently concluded AFCON U-20 tournament in Egypt.

Interestingly, at the tournament in Egypt, Agbalaka scored Nigeria’s first goal of the tournament after he rose so high to head home a corner-kick. And more interestingly, he featured in all the matches for Flying Eagles; helping them to a podium finish.

Also, the 19-year-old was among the players that represented Nigeria at the recently concluded FIFA U-20 World Cup in Argentina. And at the tournament, Solomon was very instrumental, frustrated opponent players efforts down the right-flank.

And last week, he signed for PFC Sochi after impressing the club’s scout and management following a three weeks trial.

Sources confirmed the player was on the verge of moving to Vancouver Whitecaps in the Major League Soccer. But had to opt out of the deal after transfer talks broke down before a deal could be agreed.

He is expected to team up with the club’s youth team, where he can develop his talents more. But, due to his experience and talents, pundits have predicted that Solomon will not spend much time with the youth team before breaking into the senior team.

Interestingly, Solomon is one out if the many Flying Eagles players that have secured moves to European clubs. Players like Salim Fago, Jude Sunday, Haliru Sarki, Daniel Daga, Chijioke Aniagboso and more have all moved to foreign clubs.

Salim Fago moved to NK Istra in Croatia; Haliru Sarki moved to the Arabian league. And Chijioke Aniagboso moved to Ukraine, while Jude Sunday signed for AS Trencin in Slovakian league.
