CAFCL: Rivers United Beat APC Lobito In Uyo

Rivers United on Sunday emerged victorious against Athlético Petróleos do Lobito in a CAF Confederations Cup fixture at the Godswill Akpabio Stadium Uyo, AkwaIbom State npflupdates.com reports.

Rivers United struck thrice last their Angolan opponents to go top of their group in the CAF Confederations Cup.

Rivers United is one out of the two NPFL clubs in a CAF competition.

Rivers United beat APC Lobito in Uyo

A first half goal by Antwi in the third minute of the tie ensured the former Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) champions emerged and enjoyed a comfortable victory against their visitors in the first-half of the game.

Meanwhile, second half goals by Inalegwu Odeh and Shedrach Asiegbu ensured that the Stanley Eguma’s boys enjoyed a comfortable victory.

The Nigerian boys will now hope to build on their victory going into future games both in the local NPFL and continental CAFCL.

In another story, Abia Warriors and Kwara United emerged victorious in their NPFL fixtures against Enugu Rangers and Gombe United respectively.

Also, Lobi Stars, Niger Tornadoes and Sunshine Stars were all victorious against Shooting Stars, Akwa United and Sporting Lagos respectively.

Meanwhile, Bayelsa United and Bendel Insurance away from their respective homes were able to get a point from Katsina United and Kano Pillars respectively.
