Angry fans of Nigeria’s Flying Eagles are welcoming the team to the current economic instability in Nigeria following fuel subsidy removal.
Flying Eagles under the tutelage of Ladan Bosso Sunday, crashed out of the ongoing FIFA U-20 World Cup tournament. Despite dominating most of the possessions, the team suffered a narrow 1-0 defeat at the hands of Korea U-20 .
After ending the normal duration of 90 minutes in stalemate, Korean defender Choi, scored the only difference the teams. And hence, ending the dreams of a FIFA U-20 World Cup title for Nigeria
And this is not the first time Nigeria will be crashing out of the tournament at this stage. Because the team in a 2007 FIFA U-20 World Cup tournament in Canada, exited after being beaten by Chile U-20.
Nigerians on various social media platforms has been calling for the immediate resignation of Ladan Bosso. Because of his inability to reach a semi-final despite being given the opportunity twice.
However, one of the talking point drawn out of the reactions by Nigerians; is the fact that the team will be coming back to meet Nigeria’s economic instability.
Last month, Nigeria’s President, Bola Ahmed Tinubu, removed the fuel subsidy, leading to hike in pump price of the commodity.

And despite the hike in price, Nigerians defied odds to purchase the commodity so they can watch the Flying Eagles. And this move is orchestrated by the instability of power distribution across Nigerian states.
What fans said about Flying Eagles return to Nigeria
