Shooting Stars SC Technical Adviser Gbenga Ogunbote, has opened up on his expectations from his team ahead of the Nigeria Premier Football League NPFL, fixture against Gombe United npflupdates.com reports.

Gbenga Ogunbote will return to the touchline for the first time since after his side suffered a shocking 2-0 defeat in Benin last weekend. And owngoal from Gani Falke, and a late finish from Evans Ogbonda gave the Benin Arsenal a comfortable victory at the Ogbemudia Stadium.

Shooting Stars will now have to approach it’s next fixtures with all seriousness, as they look forward to winning it’s 6th NPFL title.

Speaking to the club’s media after the Bendel Insurance game, the Oracle took his side’s loss with open arms, and at the same time urged his team to embrace themselves and do better.

“This game (vs Bendel Ins.) had been played, won and lost, we take the positives from the it and be better in the next game,” he said.

“We will take the positives from the game, we have lost the game, we have lost it, there is nothing anybody can do about it.”

While Shooting Stars SC will welcome Gombe United in Ibadan, Bendel Insurance will travel to Aba to engage reigning NPFL champions Enyimba FC.

Enyimba who started its title defence on a losing note last weekend, will hope to come good this time and earn at least a point.

In a related story Akwa United defender David Philip achieved history by captaining his boyhood club last weekend.  The defender joined the club in 2019 and had been with the team as one of the four longest serving players.

And last weekend, for the first time ever, he captained his hometown team. And more importantly, he achieved a clean sheet against NPFL newcomers Sporting Lagos at the Nest of Champions.
